WHAT TO EXPECT & WHAT TO BRING
I want to first thank you for checking out INSTAGATOR AIRBOAT RIDES as this is my most exciting venture! The St. Johns River has been my stomping grounds for my entire life and it thrills me to now be able to share part of the awesome beauty of this 1300 square mile wilderness. Every season is different out here ranging from migratory birds to deer, turkeys, wild hogs, snakes, turtles and of course the star of the show, ALLIGATORS! This 15+ mile run of the St. Johns between Brevard and Orange counties is a “no hunt zone” for gators and home to probably the highest concentration of big ones statewide… and that’s where I run! The beauty of this terrain is stunning and VERY remote.
It’s a brand new year and BABY…. “It’s really NOT so cold outside” in Florida that is! We are headed through that one little stretch leading to President’s day which is Feb. 15 and that usually ushers in SPRING BREAK and the beginning of my busy season! The water level is dropping and the air is brisk! The birds are partying as wade pools only inches deep give way to the bounty of small fry and crustaceans that these birds gorge on by the THOUSANDS!! Then there’s everyone’s favorite- THE ALLIGATOR which is also moving towards mating season in April and they are EVERYWHERE! Less water= less territory and higher concentrations. Every year around March, people are astounded by what they see as these animals line the shores by the 100’s! All I can say is words don’t do it justice!
Thank you!
